Seattle, Washington

Maybe it’s the morning fog that moves in over the Puget Sound, encouraging you to grab another cup of coffee that makes Seattle a romantic city. Or, maybe it’s the endless lush greenery and beautiful gardens that encourage couples to hold hands and wander for hours. Maybe, it’s a little bit of both!

There is much to love about Seattle and much to do with someone you love. If you enjoy the great outdoors, you’re lucky because Seattle is considered one of the best cities for kayaking and outdoor activities.

If you’re looking for a romantic spot for a stroll and a picnic lunch, look no further than The Washington Park Arboretum. Year-round this is a lovely park to visit, but it’s incredibly gorgeous in the spring when the paved paths meander through all the gorgeous colorful blooms springing back to life. The park is also home to the stunning Japanese Garden, which is open from March to November.

For city lovers, you can’t miss having a cocktail at sunset inside the historic observatory at Smith Tower. The Smith Tower was Seattle’s first skyscraper, and although it’s no longer the tallest building, it is still a Seattle icon and offers panoramic views of the city and the seafront. To visit the Observatory Bar, you must purchase a ticket at the door (you can’t buy tickets in advance) for $19. The ticket only includes entrance into the building.

For dinner, don’t miss the plant-powered fine dining experience at Harvest Beat. Their 5-course chef’s menu and wine pairing is one of the most memorable vegan dining experiences in Seattle. No matter what kind of romantic you are, it’s guaranteed you’ll feel the love in Seattle.

Booking a stay at the Hotel Sorrento is a great option for couples. This hotel is complete with a garden, fireplaces, Mediterranean architecture, and romance packages.

  1. I love that there’s cities for all types of romance! For me, I’d probably go for one of the outdoorsy-type cities, like Boulder. But NYC is always great, or somewhere on the ocean like Maui… There’s so many options! haha

  2. We love to take romantic getaways that are a bit lazy and don’t tempt us to wander out and sightsee too much. Great scenery like Napa, Maui, Sedona and Savannah might let us enjoy the vibe but not be too busy. But then sharing dventures and new experiences can add romance to any place we visit. Some new cities on the list we need to visit!
