Collins Quarter is a charming establishment situated beneath the majestic old oak trees that grace the picturesque surroundings of Forsyth Park. What makes the spot unique is that it is literally inside the park with an indoor space that flows into the outdoor scenery.
Whether you’re seeking a delightful brunch experience, a cozy spot for coffee, or an elegant dinner setting, Collins Quarter beckons with its warm ambiance and delectable offerings. The bistro-style patio comes equipped with plenty of shade for the summer and tableside heaters in the winter. Order the chicken and waffles or the crab cake eggs benedict… your belly and taste buds will thank you.
2. Or Brunch at b. Matthews Eatery
b. Matthews Eatery is a bistro one block from River Street serving southern “approachable food” (i.e. less expensive) and has absolutely delicious lunch offerings. Named one of the Best Brunch Spots in the United States by TripAdvisor, b. Matthew’s Eatery is a must-visit.
Housed in a beautifully restored late 1700s building that is said to have been one of Savannah’s earliest taverns, it provides exceptional guest service with an all-day brunch menu. b. Matthews also offers daily lunch and dinner and a special weekend brunch, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
3. Lunch at The Olde Pink House
Located a short walk from Chippewa Square, The Olde Pink House serves classic southern-style food in a mansion dating back to 1771. Fried green tomatoes with sweet corn cream, goat cheese artichoke fritters, and low country she-crab soup are just some of the delectable offerings.
Note: The Olde Pink House has been featured in several articles including Food & Wine’s Most Romantic Restaurants in America and USA Today’s Top 100 Restaurants. It is worth mentioning because this is a very popular establishment and reservations are highly recommended.
4. Pre-Dinner Cocktails at the Peregrin
The Peregrin rooftop lounge is, by far, our favorite rooftop bar we have visited. The views of Savannah’s historic district and waterfront are unparalleled. Nearly every seating area has a fire pit, the handmade craft cocktails are fantastic, and it is the perfect spot to watch the barges coming in towards the Savannah River.
The Peregrin is located on the rooftop of the Perry Lane Hotel on Perry Street, and is currently being reconfigured to create an even better and more enjoyable space. It is set to be completed in early 2024.
5. End your day at The Grey
One of the most unique restaurants in the area, The Grey offers an “elevated food and drink experience”. Built out of an old art deco Greyhound bus terminal from 1938, the restaurant has two dining options: the diner bar offers a more casual menu where the main dining room which has four prix fixe choices.
Round out a walking tour of Savannah in the historic district with a hand-crafted cocktail or a local beer inside this one-of-a-kind setting.

Located right in the beginning of City Market, you’ll pass by the Lady & Sons if you follow our walking tour of Savannah. One of Paula Deen’s many restaurants in the area, the Lady & Sons serves up southern favorites in a homestyle fashion so everyone at the table can share. The fried chicken is one of the best we have ever had, and we make it a point to stop by any time we are in town.
Leopold's Ice Cream
Leopold’s Ice Cream in the heart of historic Savannah is a cherished landmark that has been enchanting visitors with its delicious offerings since 1919. Housed in a beautifully preserved historic space, this iconic establishment is renowned for its delicious ice cream and legendary milkshakes.
