ToggleExperience a Day of Family Fun at Bavaro Adventure Park!
Bavaro Adventure Park is the perfect spot for an afternoon of family fun in Punta Cana. From ziplining through the treetops to off-road buggy rides, there’s a myriad of heart-pounding activities to experience together. Get ready to soar, splash, and speed your way through an action-packed day! Here are some exhilarating reasons why you should make Bavaro Adventure Park a top priority on your Dominican Republic itinerary.
Zip Down the Ziplining Course
The main thing we wanted to do with the kids while visiting the Dominican was to take them zip-lining. Having done a true zipline course through the rainforest in Costa Rica on our honeymoon, David and I couldn’t wait to share this with the kids. The Bavaro zipline consists of a course of 6 lines fitted with their own braking device, making it perfect for first-timers and younger kids.
The zipline at Bavaro Park ends in a “Mega Splash”, sailing right into a brisk pool of water that feels fantastic after being out in the warm sun. Now, you can land in this pool gracefully, or you can come crashing in. Either way its a great way to end your zipline adventure!
The zipline circuit also includes a short ropes course with an aerial bridge high up in the treetops. While it was not tricky to maneuver, David’s fear of heights almost got the better of him! Don’t worry, guests are hooked in and completely safe the entire time.
Relax in the Waterfall Pool
The perfect spot to unwind after the thrilling zipline tour, the waterfall pool at Bavaro Adventure Park is a large, lush oasis. Plenty of shaded seating provide a great place to relax while the kids splash and swim underneath the waterfall.
And bonus, there is a pool-side bar at this location. Grab a cold local beer, a craft cocktail, or a snack- you’ve earned it after your adventurous morning. Plus you will need to fuel yourself up for the rest of the day’s adventures!
Cruise down the Jungle River
The Jungle River is a slow and steady lazy river that meanders through the grounds of the park. Hop inside the provided rafts and let the current pull you below caves, under water features, and past lush vegetation.
Swim in the Blue Lagoon Cenote
While not a true cenote, or underwater cave, the Blue Lagoon at Bavaro Park is still a gorgeous sight to see and experience. Swim in the freshwater lagoon and watch the zipline tours soar right overhead.
Tip: For two amazing cenotes in the Dominican, check out Scape Park or Indigenous Eyes Ecological Reserve in Cap Cana.
Other Options and Add-Ons: Buggy Tours
We did a half day excursion from our resort and decided to skip the adventure buggy tours. We heard from others though that it was a great time! Take a buggy off-road through private trails filled with lush vegetation and tropical forests.
The guided tour includes a visit to an off-road racetrack in an abandoned mine, and fends with a refreshing swim in the Blue Lagoon to get all the dirt, sand, and dust off. Great for large families as 4 people can fit on each buggy!
Visit a Dominican Village
The only way to be truly immersed in the local culture is by visiting the locals! A visit to a true Dominican Village is one of the options when spending a day at Bavaro Adventure Park.
Learn about local culture and traditions, and experience locally-produced crops including Dominican chocolate, coffee, cigars, and (our favorite) Mamajuana. This alcoholic beverage is a rum made with honey and is only produced in the D.R. One sip and we knew we had to bring some home!

Is it safe to visit Bavaro Adventure Park?
We felt completely safe throughout the entire process. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, and there are signs posted all over the park for the different locations.
Once you arrive at the park, there are lockers to place any belongings you don’t want to bring ziplining, swimming, or on the buggy tours. The park also has plenty of clean bathrooms and changing areas so you don’t have to make the trip home in wet clothes!
How do you get to Bavaro Adventure Park in Punta Cana?
The packages include free shuttle bus pick-up and drop-off at your local resorts, and the busses themselves are roomy and clean. And air conditioned, much needed during the hotter months! Once you make your preferred pickup arrangements (typically you can choose morning or afternoon) the bus will arrive to collect you and your family for transport to the park.
