White Cranberry Cosmopolitan

White Cranberry Cosmopolitan

A cranberry cocktail recipe that is perfect for the holidays and so simple!

We’ve already established, I love cranberry flavored drinks. The tartness takes away from the bite of the alcohol and for me, it is a perfect combination. Add a fresh wedge of lime (or 2) and I’m in heaven!

I also enjoy a well made cosmo, that is not too sweet (hello Hillstone Winter Park, they’re the bomb) and nice and strong. I have a great cosmo recipe here that is less sweet thanks to a few dashes of orange bitters, thanks to a hint from a bartender friend at Hillstone clueing me in on why theirs is SO GOOD. Insert jazz hands here.

This drink is simple to make but looks oh so elegant, which is exactly what we want and need during this holiday season amiright? A quick recipe to dazzle our friends while we’re hosting because we have a million things to do and mixing drinks all night is not on the agenda. Make several of these at once by doubling or even quadrupling the recipe, because you will want more than one!

Add vodka (you know I’m going to say it but, you should definitely use “good” vodka in a martini or cosmo), orange liqueur such as Cointreau or triple sec, white cranberry juice, and juice of half a lime to a cocktail shaker or mason jar. Add a few cubes of ice if the juice and vodka is not chilled. Shake well.

Pour drink mixture into a chilled martini glass. I like these glasses because they are unbreakable, or these stemless martini glasses are fun since they are harder to knock over. With kids and dogs running around us, breakable fragile glasses are not a good idea.

If you’re making these just after a long day of (probably online) Christmas shopping, cleaning, and baking, you can stop here. But if you want to make this extra Christmassy, add a sprig of rosemary. Isn’t that super cute? Between the cranberries and red and green colors, I bet even Santa is enjoying one of these this Friday night. Sit back and enjoy!
